📝 Introduction
Amla pickle is a healthy and tangy Indian condiment made with fresh amla (Indian gooseberries), spices, and oil. It is rich in Vitamin C and boosts immunity.
🛒Ingredients
- 250 grams amla (Indian gooseberry)
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
👩🍳 How to Make Pickle
Step 1: Cook the Amla
Wash the amla and steam or boil them until soft. Let them cool and separate into segments. Remove the seeds.
Step 2: Prepare the Spice Mix
Heat a pan and dry roast fenugreek seeds. Grind them into a powder and keep aside.
Step 3: Tempering
Heat sesame oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida.
Step 4: Mix Everything
Add cooked amla pieces. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and fenugreek powder.
Step 5: Cook the Pickle
Mix well and cook for 5–7 minutes on low flame until oil separates.
